Profile Portraits of Brighton Psychotherapist

BRIGHTON PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER | PROFILE PORTRAITS BRIGHTON

The well respected Brighton based psychotherapist Greg Madison commissioned me to provide a series of profile portraits of himself for his website, editorials and publicity. Greg not only has private clients in both Brighton and London, but also lectures, writes books and travels internationally with his work and so my time with him was limited (as it often is with busy successful professional).

Still, even with this small window of photography we yet we still managed to get quite a few different looks and styles of images and all the time chatting and having a rather good time.

“Working with David was a pleasure. He’s great at establishing a relaxed and informal atmosphere. He captured a number of very different looks, perfect for the different ways I want to use the portraits. My only regret is that I didn’t do this years ago” Greg Madison

Brighton Business portraits of Ed Allison-Wright

BUSINESS PORTRAIT | BRIGHTON

Ed is one of the directors of Brighton’s Centurion Group, one of the largest property developers in Sussex, and needed some updated business portrait photography for his company website, and to give to the media for editorials.

We photographed Ed in the meeting room of his offices in central Brighton, so he didn’t have to leave the office and could still conduct business up until the last minute before his photoshoot. I set up a small professional photography studio in the meeting room and we then spent 30 minutes getting a wide variety of shots, some more formal and some more casual and relaxed. This really suited Ed, as he could get straight back to work when the shoot was over. As a portrait photographer I often work in this way, and set up a small studio in offices, peoples homes and creative’s work-places.

Ed has asked if he could have his selected images processed in both colour and black and white, and I was happy to oblige. I started my photographic life working with black and white prints in the darkroom but even all these years later it’s still amazing how the ‘feeling’ and ‘atmosphere’ of even a business headshot portrait can be so different in ether medium.

Here are just three portraits from the session, in both colour and black and white so you can see how surprisingly different they look. And for the record, Ed was simply a joy to photograph, and what a brilliant natural smile.
