I was totally delighted this week to welcome into the studio the drummer and percussionist Dave Cottrell, who needed to update his photography. Dave works mainly in the theatre and for TV shows like X-Factor, and arrived with a beautiful green DW kit with vintage 70’s Ludwig snare and 80’s Paiste cymbals.

Dave wanted a mix of photography, some with him playing, some just sitting behind the kit, and some headshot style portraits – all looking authentic and non-studio style. I suggested we went with a kind of ‘TV studio/gig/after-gig’ look, but we also spent a few minutes at the end making some classic portraits. He’s ended up with some amazing photography from photoshoot in the studio and I’m very happy to share a few of them here.
