Absolutely delighted to spend a day photographing Nick Van Eede (the band Cutting Crew) for his latest album cover and all the promotional photography for his website. I can’t help but replay his most famous number one hit, “I (Just) Died In Your Arms Tonight”, as I write this blog post – which is no bad thing as it’s a classic iconic song! Nick’s new album is truly beautiful and there is no doubting his exceptional song writing, singing and musical talent – but also, what a totally lovely, charming guy.

Musician Photographer Brighton – Pianist Helen Burford

The astounding pianist Helen Burford was looking for a Brighton musician photographer and so got in touch to see how I could help her with new photography for her website, PR, concert notes and editorial photography.

For Helen it was important to steer clear of stuffy traditional pianist’s images yet produce something hinting to classic musicians portraiture. We worked closely together to come up with a variety of styles that would help illuminate her repertoire and how she likes to perform – contemporary, vibrant, exciting, beautiful; a young, talented and artistic musician.

We set up various lights, backdrops, and equipment in the front room of her Brighton house and I think we have come away with some very compelling and strong musician portraits.
